AWAKENED follows Regine and Naomi, a mother daughter duo, on a fateful trip to Le Chateau, a bed and breakfast in the Louisiana bayou. There, they meet B&B owners Tony and Genevieve; Genevieve's son, Henri; and Michel, the fix-it man. Over the course of the weekend, tensions rise as Regine and Naomi struggle to reconcile their differences. At the same time, other members of the ensemble find themselves having to deal with issues they had long since tried to bury: Genevieve’s illness seems to be creeping back in; Tony wants out of the business; and Henri can’t handle his mother dying. Oh yeah, and everyone seems to forget about Michel. After a fateful blackout caused by a busted generator, the residents must finally confront each other, and truthfully confront themselves.
